As Government spending cuts bite, one group of businessmen know they will keep making vast profits from our taxes while getting us ever deeper into debt. Since 1997 almost every new school and hospital in the UK has been built by private companies who lease them back to the government. But what's in it for the taxpayer?

John Ware investigates the inflexible terms and conditions of what has become the government's flexible friend - the Private Finance Initiative - a kind of ministerial credit card which racks up huge public debts without showing on the nations balance sheet. He uncovers evidence of how governments claims that PFI gives taxpayers value for money have been manipulated.
And he asks why coalition government signed so many PFI deals when in opposition both the prime minister and his deputy branded them as 'dodgy accounting'.

End of Life for the Evolis Tattoo2
Orders accepted until December 15, 2011

As part of Evolis policy to update their range of desktop plastic card printers, Evolis recently announced the availability of the Zenius Classic model, while the Zenius Expert model, which comes with USB and Ethernet links, as well as multiple encoding options, will be unveiled at the upcoming Cartes Trade fair (mid-November 2011).
Positioned as entry-level products, Zenius printers will shortly replace the current Tattoo2 printers. These new machines represent a great leap forward as they come with unmatched ergonomics, a noticeable decrease in energy consumption, and also boast of vastly improved performance.
As a result, Tattoo2 printers will no longer be sold from December 31, 2011 onwards, although orders will be met only if placed by December 15, 2011 at the latest. Expect Delays!
Both, consumables and parts for Tattoo2 will, of course, remain available after the sale of the Tattoo2 ceases.
To enable your migration from Tattoo2 to Zenius, it maybe a good idea to buy your Zenius printer and get to know its features in readiness for your customer enquries. More info can be found here... http://www.eagletechnologies.co.uk/Evolis-Zenius.asp
Note that tests carried out by Evolis show that Zenius is close to 100% compatible with Tattoo2. Furthermore, the Linux and Mac OSX will be available in February 2012. Encoding options such as mifare will be released soon.
On behalf of Eric Bouvard Evolis, thank you for your commitment to Evolis, and we wish you a tremendous success with the new Zenius.
